WTC10239117 [2018]
The bank of footage for this piece comes from two separate shoots; the first in the summer of 2000 and the second a week after/post 09.11.01.
The imagery is captured from street level, inside and atop the roof of the WTC. The audio is extracted from the visitors experience on the top floor which included a large physical diorama of lower Manhattan and an accompanying film. The narration and music from the sound track of this lost film are the data source/seed for the live editing and image processing behaviors.
This is another project in a series of responsive, real-time video works meant for screens, walls or buildings.
The title refers to the number on a laminated world trade center photo ID which was issued to me for a visit to the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
